Our Top 5 Canadian Adventures For 2020
New year, new adventures to be had! Here are our top 5 Canadian destinations we'd like to visit in 2020.
1. Mount Temple (Alberta)
This one has been on our list for years since picking up our copy of Scrambles in the Canadian Rockies by Alan Kain (a highly recommended book!) This iconic peak towers on the Lake Louise and Moraine Lake skyline. The scramble begins only after a 11km hike to Sentinel Pass
2. Mount Gardner on Bowen Island (British Columbia)

We’ve done this hike so many times and it continues to be one of our favourites! Something about combining a breathtaking ferry ride with a short hike to a view of BC’s lower mainland followed by some ice cream or brews at Snug Cove. You just can’t go wrong with this day trip adventure.
3. Western Brook Pond Gorge (Newfoundland and Labrador)
Probably one of the most iconic views in Newfoundland and Labrador. We came so close to seeing this in 2019 on our visit to Gros Morne National Park but alas the timing did not align! There are 2 ways to access this beauty -- a multi-day trek or an 8 hour day hike + boat ride with Bontours (TIP: book way in advance).
4. Grizzly Lake in Tombstone Territorial Park (Yukon)
The Yukon has always been on our list and Grizzly Lake has got to be one of our first destinations when we get there! Tombstone Territorial Park has been referred to as the Patagonia of the North so you can just imagine its beauty. As its name suggests, bear spray and a bear proof food bin are a must.
5. Tobermory - Kayak to Flowerpot Island (Ontario)

When we first moved to Ontario, a friend told us that we haven’t thoroughly experienced Ontario until we’ve paddled Georgian Bay and Bruce Peninsula National Park! So here it is on our 2020 list. Paddle out to Cove and Russell Island for a day trip and Flowerpot Island as an overnighter. For our scuba diving friends, the area offers some top freshwater diving with plenty of shipwrecks to discover!
